TERMS AND CONDITIONS

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

  • A deposit of US$2 000 is required in order to confirm the hunt.

  • Balance is paid on completion of the hunt.

  • All prices are quoted in US Dollar ($)

  • All basic charges will be confirmed in writing

  • Fee totals for animals killed, wounded and lost will be calculated upon completion of the safari.

  • All payments to be in cash and/or travellers cheques or Mastercard/Visa credit cards(No American Express Credit Cards). A surcharge will be charged for all Credit Cards. No surcharge on international wire transfers. This is also the preferred method of payment. Contact us for our banking details and the route to follow. No personal cheques will be accepted.

  • We maintain reasonable care and precautions for the safety of our clients. However, we accept no responsibility for any illness, negligence, accident or loss, or for expenses arising there from. It will be expected from clients to take out their own personal insurance in case of lost, damaged goods and for any illness, injury that may occur.

  • Package animals cannot be exchanged for other animals

  • Package hunters can shoot extra animals from the current trophy list at only the trophy price. 

  • Package prices may vary from year to year.

CANCELATION POLICY:

​

  • In the event of a client cancelling a safari less than 12 months prior to the commencement date of the safari, the deposit will be forfeited if the dates cannot be rescheduled to alternate dates within the same season, or the following season.

  • Safaris cancelled more than 12 months prior to commencement date of the hunt will be refunded the deposit less 25%. This 25% will not be refunded, but can be applied to a future safari with alternative dates within the same season, or the following season.

SAFARI CHARGES INCLUDE:

​

  • All concession fees in South Africa

  • All hunting licenses and permits needed in South Africa

  • Full accommodation and meals during safari, including wines, beers and soft drinks.

  • The services of an experienced professional hunter and his staff, including trackers and skinners

  • A fully equipped hunting vehicle with professional hunter

  • Daily laundry service
     

SAFARI CHARGES EXCLUDE:
 

  • Airfares, international, national or charter

  • Accommodation and travel costs prior to and after the safari

  • Shipping of trophies to any destination

  • Staff gratuities

  • Animals wounded and lost

  • US$10 per animal hunted donated to PHASA Foundation 

TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS

Sun Africa Safaris would like all our clients to enjoy the journey of the Safari, from day one when you decide to head over to the dark continent until when you receive your trophies and mount them in the perfect spot. 

​

By saying this we do have client coordinators in the USA, Canada and Mexico that help our clients every step of the way. Our Coordinators are very experienced African hunters and will be able to assist you in planning your Safari from start to finish at no extra cost. Before our clients embark on the journey of planning their Safaris we always suggest one of our respected client coordinators to assist you from A-Z.

RIFLE IMPORTATION:

Rifles need to be imported into South Africa on an Temporary import permit which you can pre apply for months before your hunt. Please get in touch with us if you would like to start the process. One of our client coordinators will help you and your fellow hunters every step of the way through this easy process.

TRAVEL INSURANCE:

Sun Africa Safaris recommends that all clients obtain travel insurance prior to their Safari.

​

FLIGHTS:

We do recommend using a reputable travel agent to book flights. We also have recommended, tried and tested travel agents that we prefer to make use of and a client coordinator will make sure all hunters get quotes for flights. We do get some of  the best rates and make sure that you have a pleasant travel experience.

​

CLIMATE:

The Eastern Cape in South Africa boasts a moderate climate, making for comfortable hunting conditions.

​

• Average temperatures during our early season, March - April, range from 65F to 90F
• Average temperatures during our mid-season, May - August, range from 45F to 85F. Night time

and early mornings will drop down to freezing.
• Average temperatures during our late season, September - October, range from 65F to 100F

​

CLOTHING:

Bring with a few long and short sleeved shirts, long pants, sweaters and jacket. If you plan on doing a night drive, do bring a pair of gloves and a jacket that will keep the wind out. A good pair of walking / hunting boots, sun cream and a hat. Camouflaged clothing is allowed.

​PERMITS & LICENCES:

South Africa - All your hunting licenses are included in your daily rate.

Outside of South Africa - Hunting licenses do differ in cost depending on the country and will be added to quotation well in advance. 

​

HEALTH PRECAUTIONS :

No compulsory vaccinations are needed in the Eastern Cape. The Eastern Cape and most of South Africa is malaria-free. For extra peace of mind do not hesitate to contact your General Practitioner in regards to traveling to South Africa. 

​

WATER:

Tap water is purified and safe to drink.

 

CURRENCY:

Currency that is used in South Africa is Rand (R). Most shops accept credit card. Please make sure to contact your Credit Card company and notify them of your travels before traveling to South Africa.

​

GRATUITIES:

A 10 - 15% gratuity is the norm at many establishments. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with us regarding the norms and standards of gratuities in Africa.

​

CELLPHONE RECEPTION AND WIFI:

We do have cellphone reception in most of our hunting areas. We also have full Wi-Fi at our Lodge that may be used at no additional cost. Also very few hunting Lodges fail to have Wi-Fi in the times we live in today.

​

ELECTRICITY:

The electricity in South Africa is 220 Volt. Please check that any of your electrical equipment accept 110 - 240 Volts or else you will need to bring an inverter from 220 Volts to 110 Volts.
Most basic chargers (Cellphone, Laptop, Camera) will work with the converters that are in all rooms.

RECOMMENDED PACKING LIST:

The following list is only a general guideline of what to bring on your Safari. There is a daily laundry service at all camps. Pack light ensuring you have the basic comfortable clothing/equipment and keep in mind you’ll always need luggage space for African souvenirs you’ll buy along the way.

• 3 Pairs of long hunting pants (Dark Khaki or Olive Green)
• 2 Pairs of short hunting pants (Early hunts, March - April; Late hunts, Sept - Oct)

• 4 Hunting shirts (Dark Khaki or Olive Green)

• 1 Hunting jacket (Dark camouflage, Dark Khaki or Olive Green)

• 1 Warm sweater or jumper
• Casual wear for the evenings
• 1 Pair of gloves

• 1 Raincoat or waterproof jacket

• Cap or hat

  • Binoculars

  • Rifle soft case

  • Shooting sticks if you prefer your own

  • Camera and USB flash drive for copying your PH’s pictures

  • Camera/Binoculars lens cleaning cloth

  • Flashlight

  • Pocketknife

  • Sunglasses and SPF 30+ sunblock. Chapstick or lip balm

  • Small backpack for daily equipment while hunting

  • Rifle with the sufficient ammunition

  • International plug set for conversation to South Africa 220 Volts

  • Insect repellent - Tick repellent preferably containing DEET

  • Extra prescription glasses if required

  • First aid kits are on hand in camps and in all hunting vehicles but it would be wise to bring your own

    requirements along

  • Spare battery if required

  • Rifle cleaning kits, regular wipe down sit

  • Prescription drugs if required

  • Toiletries and wet wipes for the ladies on Safari

  • Rifle soft case
